This isn’t just another Bible app. Here’s four ways Bible by Olive Tree is set apart from the rest.

1) NO WIFI
That’s right, you don’t need a WiFi connection in order to access your Bible (and all the other resources that come inside our app). You could be in the middle of the Amazon or on top of Mt. Everest. As long as your phone is working, so is our app.

2) MORE THAN JUST A BIBLE
We are firm believers that the Bible is not our own. God has been speaking to His people, through His people, for thousands of years. This is why we make 1000s of resources available to help you go deeper into God’s Word. And when we say “resources,” we mean eBooks, devotionals, reading plans, Bible dictionaries, atlases, study Bibles, Bible commentaries, and so much more.

3) TECH + DESIGN
Not only do we try to implement unique features into our app, but we do it with style. Our favorite is the split-screen window. You can use the resource guide to access any of the resources available in our app and read them right alongside the Bible of your choice. It even does all the hard work of tracking with you, verse-by-verse. Studying the Bible just became the easiest it has ever been.

4) CUSTOMIZE YOUR BIBLE
We have an array of customizable features. Don’t like our preset highlighters? That’s fine! Pick your own color, thickness, and change it to underline instead. Have trouble reading small print? Increase the font size! Reading at night? Change the theme to be easier on your eyes. You can save your favorite passages, drop a book ribbon, create a note, and add tags. Best part? Your highlights, notes, and resources sync between all your devices.

BIBLE TRANSLATIONS
If you’re wondering about our different English translations, this app comes with NIV, ESV, KJV, NKJV and more (available in-app). Speak a different language? No problem! We have Bibles in Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, French, and more.

FREE STUFF
Our passion is inspiring people to connect with God and His Word through technology. So, we have 100s of resources that we are giving away for free—all day, every day. You can access these in our in-app store.

Best bible app I have seen. Have used it on T700 and iPad tablets and Samsung S7. A few problems I had with early versions were fixed. Very easy to look up specific verses, search, compare translations (side by side), highlight, bookmark, and save verses. Much content is available free (I have 4 translations: KJV, NKJV, ESV, NIV). The History function is very useful for recalling content covered at any particular time. Thanks Olive Tree for an excellent app. Full Review

Olive Tree has updated the app and fixed issues that had been troubling users. Customer support was more responsive the last year when I raised issues. I appreciate the favorites list that let me set my versions and quickly swap between them. I use this every day and am thankful for the clean, easy-to-navigate interface. Full Review

It worked until the update to version 7.1.1. I had to uninstall/reinstall, or else all I get is a spinner when I try to select a verse. I'm using KJV. Now when I select John 12:13 and scroll back a page, there is a large empty space. I'm not feeling good about this. Really, I don't need all the features and constant updates. I would never trust any app to retain my notes, bookmarks, highlights, etc. Sooner or later, updates can take it all away. I only want to use the KJV to read and search. I found "Quick Bible" by Yuku...simple and works great. Full Review

I've used this app for years. Got a new phone and went to download, selected the Bible version to use and nothing happens when I click the continue button. It worked fine on my $50 Android, but doesn't work on my $700+ LG (although it worked for over 2 years on the same model). Very sad. I have to learn a whole new app now. I really liked yours... UPDATE: Thanks for the tech support. It WORKED!!! We are back in action. All is well. Don't SLIDE the button to select your Bible version. You must TAP! Full Review

This app is great if you want to have your biblical library with you at all times. I have this app on my smart phone, tablet, and lap top. For me, it has reduced the amount of books, hard copies, that i have to store. I haven't found anything that i can not do with a physical book that i can not do with this app. In fact this lets me keep notes and writings close at hand. However, if a large library of physical books, hard copy, is your thing this app will not suit you. But for that special book that you love and want to have this will not hinder that at all. With this app i can take my whole library with me to church, bible study, and any place that i go. The amount of material that you have to choose from is like having to book store with you at home. There has not been any problem in down loading any thing that i have purchased. I have found at times difficulty trying to see maps and diagrams etc. Depending on what device i am using. If you are interested in this app i would highly recommend it. Olive Tree also has provided me with good suppot when i needed it. GOD BLESS your adventure in your spiritual path. Full Review

I have really been enjoying this app and use it at church every time I go. I really like having the ability to have two versions open at the same time in split screen. The only issue I have is that sometimes the split screen takes a while to load but it might just be my old tablet acting up. Full Review

A very good Bible app. I love it. Though most of the books and Study Bibles are quite expensive for most people in Africa, I pray that someday, somehow, they'll be subsidized for third world countries. I wish this would be my only Bible app someday; for now, I have other apps that offer different versions for free. Full Review

Until the most recent update, it was one of the finest Bible tools available. Use it for daily study and reading. During the unexpected update, it locked me out and it happened during morning worship, which I was using the program and split screen information to preach from. Embarrassing. Plan B, pick up the Bible and teach without notes and background information. The update has slowed my tablet and often stops for varying periods of time from a few seconds to 20 or 30 seconds, as though working in the background. Still a good tool for Bible study. I spent $40 for the NIV life application study bible. Unfortunately this app does not work on my Samsung tablet. I can't open the resource guide and the app frequently crashes. Support told me to turn off notes and highlights which I wasn't using anyway, but that did not fix the issues I am having with the app. Full Review

I have a few bible apps but this is my favorite. The only things I find lacking is no audio bible and I would like the note taking feature to be a little closer to what is in Tecartas Bible app. This simplest way to describe OT is Logos for dummies. I have Logos but I never purchased any of their resource sets because it's so user unfriendly. I say this as someone who is very computer literate. I know I could learn to use it if I tried but I learn to use software all the time for work. I want my personal software to be intuitive. I have OT on my phone, my tablet and my computer. Love their reading plans. My only complaint is they always have something on sale that I really want. this might not be the best app for someone who doesn't have much self control for purchasing. They do have quite a few free resources available and TONS of resources you can purchase. I purchased a commentary I had been wanting for quite sometime for 1/4 of the price it would be in print (as I was planning on getting) and it was during a sale so it was about half what OT normally charges for it. If you want something that is both comprehensive and easy to use I highly recommend. Full Review

I've tried many other Bible apps, none do as much, as elegantly, as Olive Tree. You can custom categorize, tag, and highlight texts, comment on them, and search texts within highlights... saving it all across devices. Olive Tree is incredible. But I don't like its promotional notification approach. Full Review

I have used and loved the Olive Tree Bible Study app since my Palm Pilot days. Other apps come and go, and I keep coming back to this one. While I still find it awkward to do actual study on an electronic device, I believe that is more a function of my inability to adapt than it is Olive Tree's. The interface is pleasing to look at and easy to use. The number of translations and helps is overwhelming. I believe it works better using a memory card for storage, and naturally they works better with faster tech, but it also frees up the memory built into your tablet/phone. There are scads of Free add-ons and, of course, twice that in for-sale content. If you can only have one Bible Study app, this is well worth your time considering. Full Review

While this is a good study resource it the edits appear to assume that those who study are interested only in the more conservative translations. The translations that are free do not include NRSV, Inclusive, the Message etc.... however the King James and NJK are free. This seems to be a conservative theological editorial choice. Many of us who are more progressive are apparently left out of the selections. Full Review

Update for newer version. Then you for making it better again. Please leave things alone that work. Before the update I would give 5 stars. Now it lags. Just doing basic tasks in it are more difficult. I have to tap on a number 4-5 times at least to create a note. Also, I can no longer copy my notes so I can put them in an email for example. Minor annoyance is the now double tap required to see or hide the menu. I really liked the old version better. I am with other raters, please let us return to the previous version. Nonetheless, it is still the best Bible app out there in terms of options. I just took away another star because now my bookmarks do not carry across versions. Please! Give me the version before this one again! Please! What are all the bookmarks that I never added? And when I click on them to see why they are there I receive a message saying annotated bookmarks queued for update? I would just like my bookmarks please. Full Review

Best free Bible app. A few things I like about it: there are no ads, and no distractions (after the top bar minimizes), simple interface. It doesn't push purchases or study plans on you, which I greatly appreciate. It gives you the option to scroll or flip through chapters for seamless reading. Offline reading. My one complaint isn't large enough for me to dock a star, which is that I find the "messages" section unnecessary and slightly distracting (like I alluded to before), and I wish that the top bar only had tools for reading (that is, I wish I didn't see a little shopping cart when I open my Bible). But ultimately these are small problems considering it's a free app, complete with word search. Awesome. Full Review

I am sure that this is a great app if only it would run long enough for me to use it. It continually crashes whenever you change books, enter settings, or try to do any of the things that you normally do when reading (such as going forward or back a page). It takes forever to load with no indication as to whether it is downloading or has frozen. Sadly it is completely unusable for me. I hate what they've done to this app. They changed the look and feel, and you apparently can no longer just open it and be in the Bible version you want to read without borders or what they want you to see, first. I kept from updating for YEARS, but they've changed it so your license disappears often and you must update to keep your library. What happened to having 2 stacked windows open with different versions for studying without having to see a big heading bar? Please just let me use the old version (5.4.0 or older) and stop making it cancel my licenses. Full Review
