Pixel 2 Xl Oreo 8.1 PASSPORT Max 2 When the app is put in the background, the speed limit is no longer updated on the radar detector. It changes to two dashes. If I bring the app back to the foreground, the speed limit starts updating again. I have unpaired and repaired the detector from my phone. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I am on vacation so I won't be able to update the firmware (if there is one) until we get back. The last time I checked was a couple of months ago. Escort needs to get it together. Waze offers more info, better accuracy and navigation. For a pioneering company in the radar detection field, Escort should have a flawless app worthy of its product. The app crashes every time another app comes forward with a notification. On a recent trip from New Hampshire to California, Washington State thru Texas to South Carolina... Not ONCE did I see any other alerts from another user. Escort should be paying me. Full Review

Absolutely fantastic app! Do not drive without protection. User integration required to update mobile law enforcement locations. If everyone had one, law enforcement would be visible to all! Update 12/26/17 Due to new update and various bug fixes, this app is no longer reliable. Specific to Ka band, when being hit, app immediately crashes and requires a restart. Multiple crash report queries populate screen, hindering restart of app. For a pay app, these incidents should be nonexistent. May have to rethink renewal of service. Full Review

I liked it until the last update. Please fix! Everytime I get hit by radar and/or the app is doing multiple things, it crashes. Very annoying and makes it useless. Have sent multiple crash reports. Also, still have issues where it Auto mute, even though it is turned off. Full Review

Used to work fine about 6 versions ago, will not display speed limits on detector or active speed traps unless the app is actively open and being looked at. If running in background on task bar or screen goes to sleep it stops working entirely!! Useless until fixed. This was the deciding factor on getting this app and detector. I'm regretting my purchase. Full Review

It worked for about a year, but on my way home for Thanksgiving, I had to get a new cell phone and when I hooked up it was telling me the speed limit was 105 mph and I was going 117 mph. This all after I have been getting spammed about their NEW Radar detector. Yeah like I'm gonna spend $600 every year to upgrade because they hacked the app to try to screw you into buying a new one. Yeah like GFY Escort. Next time back to Valentine! Full Review

Terribly buggy. I haven't updated my firmware yet but my app crashed about 30 times going from Arizona to California. The app did function and had a decent amount of crowd sourced data including a laser alert from crowd source which is awesome. If working smoothly I would give 5 stars. Full Review

Slow to connect. Paid for subscription because I wanted the live alerts and speed limit displayed. The Bluetooth takes a while to connect. And the limit display is lagged by about 10 minutes. This should just function without the Bluetooth and run off the satellite. The app doesn't let you run navigation (Google maps) and use the app for location. It also is a lot power hungry and will drain your battery fast. Having to open and close the app every time I get in the car is a deal breaker. Full Review

In my previous review I was very critical of this app (rightfully so, mind you) but since they actually have been updating the App my opinion has changed. It works for most roads and consistently connects with the radar detector. I have updated to Oreo on my OnePlus 3T so I will update in a few days. Full Review

Keeps crashing when I try to mark something like a cop spotting. Speedometer toggles on and off for no apparent reason. Only useful if you get a separate dashboard mount for your smartphone. Must manually zoom in and out by pinching corners of the display. Not safe to take your eyes off the road and touch controls on the app while driving. Full Review

Been using Escort radars for many years and Escort Live! since it was released. The current version of this app crashes immediately after receiving a radar signal approximately 75% of the time. The app and my PassportMax2 reconnect pretty quickly via bluetooth after the app restarts from a crash, but what use is it if it's always restarting? Clearing data (which I had several years of driving data) did nothing. Uninstalling and reinstalling was an exercise in futility. I've grown tired of having to choose "dismiss" or "send" crash data when the app reloads. Full Review

I like having my max 360 show the posted speed and my speed. And ability to do configure radar from app. The major issues with this app are that the connection doesn't work every time displaying posted speed correctly unless a force stop is completed and then connected. And the major problem is that this app uses my battery more than my screen or any and all other phone apps or services. This is even after you force stop the app in android settings. It will continuously use GPS and battery all day and until your phone dies . It's crazy . And there isn't a forget password option . And other minor issues. Full Review

UPDATEDEC2017: Still use the app everyday. The app still has a issue using the GPS(it stops using it regularly). However, it saves the stationary signals, and reports the New ones. UPDATE JUN2017:I use this app all the time. Galaxy Note 5 / 64MB version. I am not certain what happened since the app update, Bluetooth is now a pain to connect and GPS on this is usually not staying connected. This app crashed like a drunk 13 year old. A night time mode would greatly be appreciated. Making this run as a background app would be awesome, I use GPS and you miss emergency visual instructions from Waze when away from the display. Other GPS and Bluetooth apps are good on this phone. You can independently set alerts levels, and this is nice. The traffic feature could use a bolder mapping. All in all a great app to run if you wish to avoid speeding tickets/accidents. Full Review

App crashes often, and can be difficult to reconnect so that it shows actual speed. I travel the same route frequently and receive a "speed trap" warning, where there is never a speed trap (Georgetown, CO.) There's no way to remove or mute such a warning. Likewise, if you "mark" a location, there's no way to unmark it. I could go on.... Full Review

600 bucks for their overpriced radar detector, and they have nerve to charge 50 bucks more, for the "privilege" to provide them with crowd sourced input? Instead of saying 'Thank You' - they send you a bill. Even the Defender database is BS hype - again subscription based - with stale, incorrect, unverified information. This company is laughing all the way to the bank. Their ethics and reputation is a far cry from the old Cincinnati Microwave Co. Very happy with Waze instead. Will never buy their top of the line detector ever again. It's the gift that keeps on giving (only the gifts goes to them). Full Review

Two stars is being nice. It doesn't work more than it does. If not crashing repeatedly, it won't stay connected to my detector even if I reboot and specifically select the Bluetooth connection. Kind of defeats any sort of crowdsourced data. I had figured out that getting all of the way out of the app and getting back in would usually get it connected. Seems the 11/2 update really messed things up as the app rarely works as necessary - I must send four crash reports a day. If I were paying for this app, I would be livid. I just got my detector recently, so I'm just really disappointed. Please fix it or do away with it. I could've gotten a V1 with all the fixings. Thank God for Waze! PS - Escort I've already rated this. Keep asking me to rate it and I will remove what little good I've said. Full Review

Works correctly 90% of the time. Problems are that when you close the app it is still open and asking to turn on the gps. I have to go in and force it to turn off. GPS was showing on the radar detector in the beginning and stopped. Sometimes you don't know if the phone and device are connected until you go over 20 mph then it displays on the passport. Has been months with to updates and the same problem still happens. The bluetooth discounts have way into my 20 minute drive for no reason. Though this was fixed a update ago, and nobody seems to answer the e-mails. Full Review

Ok my had it for 2 months now, using an IX and S7 Edge. Speed in the app is way off, 40mph in the car and on the detector and the app shows 60 to 70kph however it does show Mph not Kph. Some streets have the wrong speed limit or no speed limit, and it is the main or other road. It tells me there is a speed trap 3 times in a quarter mile. No way to delete them as I have never seen an officer there in 6 years. Crashes any time you blink or sneeze and loses Bluetooth connection, it will show the Bluetooth logo and speed you are travelling, no longer showing the speed limit. Then you have to close the app 2-3 times to get it to connect, so do you pull over or keep driving? Always trying to connect if you forget to close the app. Would love to use Waze or try it with my Samsung car mode app. Bummed I spent my money on the detector and app. Fooled me once, fix the app or I am gone. As of 01/05/18 - app still crashes within a minute or two of a Ka detection. Latest as of 11/30/17: Crashes a few minutes after a radar detection occurs. Update as of 06/12/17: Lately it's taking several minutes before the vehicle speed displays in the app. I've turned on the phone's gps and Bluetooth prior to starting the app and on numerous occasions I've had to manually select the SmartCord setting in the app to activate the Bluetooth connection. Sometimes you have to turn the app off and restart it or do the same for the Bluetooth or the location (GPS) so all the pieces work together. I wish the fonts were larger that tell how many minutes ago an alert was created. Full Review
